Simple way to get platform.io to write to the SD card

I needed to reprogram my SKR1.3 motherboard but

  1. The MPCNC is in the garage.
  2. I built a case for the SKR1.3 and didn’t put a hole in to allow me to reposition the jumper for direct USB connection to a laptop. Given the number of cables going into the MB I didn’t want to disturb them.
  3. My big Mac is quite some way from the garage and I didn’t have my laptop to hand.

I suspect most/some/few people know this but if you rename your micro SD card to “REARM”, mount it on your Mac (I use a simple SD Card Convertor), then build your firmware and upload it from platform.io on then main computer, it will automatically look for the SD card called “REARM” and write straight to the micro SD card. You don’t have to hunt around in /.pio/<board_name> and do a manual copy.

Then sneakernet it to the SKR MB, plug in and reboot.

Saved me a lot of time today.
