I’m in California so if you add state tax to that it comes out to about 30%, but yeah it is still a hit in the wallet.

Absolutely correct. “You have to spend the money to get the write-off” are words I’ve uttered many times in my life. But I’ve never looked at it as “saving 20%”! You KNOW I’m a sucker for a sale! Also uttered many times by me: “I’ll go broke saving money”.

Pinging this thread as we’re getting close. I’m still hoping to go, but my business travel plans are making it hell on me to try and confirm my availability.
I’ve put on hold one aspect of my “Shipping case LR4 in a luggage size” project. Not because I don’t want to build it, but because I’ve been down a rabbit hole and am thinking about a whole different design. I won’t likely get that done for this years’ SMRRF. Current thinking is to make myself some 3D printed press forms and make my own custom outer aluminum skins, with 3D printed body and 3d printed inner body with composite tent poles as the stiffeners.
OK on to brass tacks. Who in our community plans to go this year?

If I do go, and because I may not be able to be certain… would we as a community want to reserve a spot?
Things I’m considering: If I do go, and don’t bring a machine- could we find a local makerspace and collaborate in the week prior to build a machine to show? If we did that, I’d bring kit / parts, and then since I can’t take the machine back we’d need to find a school or makerspace or other suitable community to donate the machine away to.
Other Ideas for how we might do this?

I’ve got a flight sitting in my airline’s app, debating on dates.
Looks like a table is only around €100 which isn’t too bad.
If I go as a participant I’ll get in Friday.
If I go and get a table, then I may arrive Wednesday.
Question is whether 2 days is enough to do anything notable to prep.
I might bring either a small partially assembled LowRider or a small unassembled MPR&P.
Does anyone have any contacts at a local MakerSpace?
Edit- V1 machine map has two machines which are either on a vessel, or a small island I can’t see on the map. (or a edit/sumission error.)
