I purchased the hardware kit for the lowrider v4. I accidentally slide the carriage off one of the linear rails and lost some bearings. The rails are sold out in the store and I cannot find the LDO model for sale anywhere else online - is there a recommended model of carriage/replacement rail? Can I just replace the lost bearings?
checking around I found a note about the bearing balls being 2.38 mm or 3/32 inch. If you have some of the balls still, you can line them up in a row. 32 of them will be 3 inch/23.3 mm. or 16 of them will be 1 1/2 ’ or 38.1 mm. You will have a pretty good measure with a standard ruler or tape.
First, thank you all for your responses. I’ve been going over my space with a magnet and have been able to recover all but 2-4 per side. It seems to move fine but its not quite as smooth as the rail with all the bearings. Any advice or thoughts on how to judge if it’s “good enough”? I am not opposed to buying a new carriage, I am just new to this and really not sure how to judge.
Missing 2-4 should be fine for sure, I have 100% run with far more missing. You can lube them, and loosen the end caps a little and give them a firm roll and snug them back up that should smooth things out.
