What triggered me was I was trying to engrave to a 2mm depth and the amount of cross fall within the first 12" in either direction was enough to be visible in the depth of cut. I plan to do full depth cuts later as well. I was trying to keep the portability alive and I think this fit the bill quite well.
Yeah I agree it’s a good fix just saying that it’s a blind spot on the design as I use mine as a sheet cutter primarily so wouldn’t notice doc discrepancies unless they were bad.
Posted a video today–just showing the build process if anyone is interested–I find its easier to see the relationship between parts this way. I tried to do it in mostly real time to show how easily and relatively quickly the system goes together.
