Neat!

Actually my wife has said the same. I actually might try that some time. I do have a great oak dealer here and it’s “just” the case. I could even leave the baseplate for alignment of the electronics.

A novel concept by Makerworld??

Maker world are hitting the consumer market very hard, and it’s pretty clear that Prusa have drawn a line in the sand and are running in the opposite direction - you won’t see a limited edition Oak printer from Bambu any time soon, nor printers designed from the board up to be completely disconnected. You will see a continuation of their “make printing simple for consumers” thing - easy kits for RC toys, lightboxes and small projects just like the electronics stores of the last century.

marvellous things are happening in Prusa/Printables world - I wish one of them was integration of Onshape parametric models!

On the other hand, so you don’t have to wade through 90 minutes of Prusa fan stuff, printing silicone, open source rfid for filament, and other geek friendly stuff - check out these two really neat short clips from the Prusa event last week - more than strong hints of Apple style here, held in the Prague Planetarium with that good old half dome LED projection.

It’s pretty great, to be honest. Hoping that the silicone printing is somehow coming to the MMU4.

Loving the comments on the silicone printing on YouTube. :stuck_out_tongue:

Man, that flew right past me. Wow… I am still eyeing the Stön though (https://ston-3d.com/).

MMU3 for the CORE One L will be released in early 2026.

That does not sound like MMU4 will be soon… :frowning:

No but the INDX public showing is just two weeks away although no date on release.

Should we open a betting pool about who is the first two mount one on a MP3DP?

I have a Core One L scheduled to ship the week of 17 November.

This provides some clarity for me as it will trigger a bunch of changes to my ragtag collection of old and mostly workable printers. Comments in one of my threads or a new topic soon.

Estlcam can now generate the CAM data based on the layernames you did in CAD (last bit of the video). This is insane… You can basically program the whole thing already in the CAD…

Oh I wish that was as easy for me, and I only have one printer! I have to be careful here - I have a few projects that require a (preferably) tool changer. My wife was trying to talk me into an XL a year ago, because the bigger plate does have some attraction, the INDX hype makes it look worth having, but the Bondtech blog says it’s months away. Let’s see what Formnext says - if Prusa package an L with that we might just get a bit excited!

And this, is from the guy who not much more than a year ago went on record to decry multiple colours…(and who couldn’t see the need for himself for multi materials)

Do get that thread started!

You talked me right into it… I ordered my Core One L just a minute ago. Looks like I’m good for the same shipping 17 November schedule.

I love my little Prusa MK-3S and the MK-2S I had before that… but it’s time to splurge. I’d talked recently to a buddy who was considering a printer purchase and asking for recommendations and I told him then that I would probably go with the Core One if I was in the market for a new printer for myself… he and another buddy were leaning toward Bambu. Semi-thinking I really need to get a new enclosed printer and feeling no regrets about my previous Prusa purchases… it was your professional “eye” and commit to purchase one that closed the deal for me.

I’ve always purchased the kits but I’m really looking forward to turn-key system that you just plug in and go. I’ve always used sneaker-net, printed PLA almost exclusively, and printed individual parts rather than large build plates because it was so slow and I didn’t want to risk power outages. Hopefully this will help me modernize my workflow at least a little bit and get parts that look a bit better and come out faster.

Yes, please…

I had to watch with cc auto translate. Sure sped up a repetitive process!

The first time you restart a print which stopped after a power outage, you will think it’s some sort of black magic.

My problem has always been the 3 successive power outages as the recloser tries to ignite more of the forest before finally giving up – I’ve only ever been able to resume after a single power interruption. I really should connect the printer to the 60kVA of UPS systems within 10 feet of the printer.

I’ve been on the fence for a while about the Core One, and I had a list of things I wished were different. Prusa literally checked every one of those off with the L.

I’ll get around to it.

I have several elderly family members with health issues and one has been near death for the last 11 days, a series of miraculous saves and setbacks.

Plus I’m in the busiest phase of my work which will go on until spring 2028.

When I get a breather, time to work on my own threads and builds.

I will keep you and yours in my prayers :folded_hands:

Yea, I’ve only had that work a couple times, usually by the morning the print has detached from the build plate.

Cool factory video of how the makera CNC is made. I’ve seen a bunch of companies adopt these big die cast aluminium frames. They also make their own spindles.
