MSG:ERR: Z Axis TMC driver not detected ,firmware update sorted it

thought id pull out the old jp1 which kept coming up with error on Z stepper about 8 mth ago , just blew dust off it turned it on same error on original firmware

[MSG:ERR: Z Axis TMC driver not detected - expected 0x21 got 0x0],

though bugger it try update to 3.9.9 reloaded all config files and yeeeee haaa no errors for Z  does come up sd message , cant find card to throw in it at mo , got spare motor tested XYZ in all directions running mint

now the Big issue I have is ,

does that Mean i have to build another machine :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:  , no point having a perfectly good board sitting in back of cupboard but what do I build ??? ,

got my full sheet 1.2x 3m router table , have 850 x 400mm laser

maybe a plasma prob out of my depth but what the hell

ill run it up down for few days running motor to see if it errors out again before starting a new build

ok

  1. Buy machine
  2. Build machine
  3. Buy spare for machine
  4. Realize spares are basically an unfinished machine that needs to be completed.
  5. Complete machine
  6. Go to 3.

You can’t help it. I cant stop it after 6 builds so I’ve tried to slow it a bit but now i have spares for 4 systems and we all know what that means.

The gift that keeps on giving.

100%!
