I designed and printed this pen holder for my LR4 build. Attaches to the little protrusion on the Makita lower holder. Nice and snug fit.
I found one for the LR3 but would not work. I’m sure there is one out there but easier to model this.
I printed the crown for my Primo but a little confused on the LR4. I know right where my Z is zeroed ut on homing but not sure how to position before I print? Thought about using tin foil and wrap around the Sharpie tip to get a Z probe but not sure if that makes sense.
Sorry just not familiar with the Z home or what’s next?
You are correct that when you home Z, Z0 is now at the top. So, you just need to jog down so the pen is touching or nearly touching, and then run your gcode. Since you’re not probing, you want to make sure you’re not using the starting gcode that probes.
Just posted this in another thread and it applies here as well:
No, that will just lift the pen off the paper so it doesn’t draw a line to the starting point. You might want Estlcam to “cut” 1 mm deep so it puts some pressure on the Sharpie.
