Am printing up all of the parts for the LR3. Cannot print the YZ plates Too big for my printer). Some advice on the material thickness. If I use mild steel, how thick would I need for rigidity (6mm or 8mm). and if I use aluminium, is 12mm the optimal size. many thanks, David
( I previously wrote, stating XZ plates, but have deleted that post)
If you are using metal 3mm is more than thick enough.
Many thanks
I used 6mm aluminium. Lowrider isn’t finished yet but it seems plenty strong enough.
I also tapped M3 threads and mounted the linear rails with cap screws, rather than wood screws into MDF.
