The firnware will complain if there’s no thermistor attached (basic hotend safety). You can either leave the hot end wired up, make a fake thermistor with a resistor, or flash the firmware with the 999 dummy values.

Lesson of the day so far: Don’t assume the STL files people gave you should always be printed as is. I’m printing a dust show for the DW660, and the back support would be much easier to print if upside down to avoid the overhangs. Guess I will see how it does, then do it again if I need.
I put the router back on today, and went to run a cut without putting the dummy thermistor on, and it never complained.
Yeah, lots of times stl files are rotated entirely the wrong way for printing. I always look for which side is best and requires the least amount of supports.
