This is the page I got the wiring from, it is the Fluidnc Wiki page
RS485 Wiring
RS485 terminals can be labeled A and B or + and -. Typically (A connects to -) and (B connects to +), but many people have found that the 2 wires need to be swapped. Often there is a ground wire. Most people have better luck without a ground connection between the controller and VFD. RS485 is a differential signal, so it does not need a ground reference.
You should use a 20 - 22 AWG twisted pair of wires. If the cable is shielded connect the shield wire to ground at one end only.
not only swaping the cables, please be sure you get the parameters set correctly in your vfd
P00.06: 8 MODBUS communication setting dont forget this one
Just did that P00.06 = 6MODBUS communication set
also
P00.03 was set at 0, changed to 1, not difference so put it back to 1
Still have blinking RX solid RX
going to swap wires now.
Mmm you said it was set to 0 and you changed to 1. Jeje please take a close look on each code you can mess up things easly. Calm down and renew your patience
That is awesome, I have not ventured into the world of aluminum yet. Feeling the pull however.
I am going to go through the setting again, just to make sure everything took as it should have.
I have double checked everything I can think of to check.
There is one quandary however.
It is telling me to set P00.02 to MODBUS, my VFD does not have that register, it goes from P00.01 to P00.03
Bottom line I think I am fried for this day. The wife is home and I am on call.
Thank you for all the help Cesar. Maybe in the darkness of the night a light will come on.
I agree, I have read it several times.
I have made several efforts to find this setting, it is not available. The parameters go from P00.01 to P00.03, there is no P00.02.
Sorry.
I am wondering if it is a typo in the manual, I am sure that the setting exists somewhere but that parameter does not exist on my VFD. I can take a movie to show that it simply is not there. I couldn’t be more frustrated if I tried!
I will take a look at the manual tomorrow and see if I can discover where this actually is. I am thinking it may be time to just order the correct VFD.
I am sorry if I sound short, just frustrated. I hate it when the manual and the device do not line up, how are we suppose to manage the device when the directions are faulty.
OK enough of the rant.
I do want to thank you for all the help and time you have put into this problem. You have been more that helpful.
Chinese knockoff have that issue. I bet hY is a nockoff brand too,
Sadly fluidnc team only tested the HY series vfd. When the dust from the tariff settles i might order one of yours just for do the testing. Right now shipping directly to my country i would prefer to avoid, its more convenient for me to order to an us address and get it shid/ forwarded to me
