Help with Snugging up my Core

I have been using my LR4 and love it. Anyway I should stop wasting time saying each post “I love it” …but I do :joy:

I just noticed my Core is loose as I think I followed directions and did not over tighten in the initial stage.

Sorry if I missed but what is the best way to sneak up on tightening the core. Right now I just noticed there is a little bit of “jiggle” room on the beam.

Which is why I get some in consistent Z depths as I Z leveled. multiple times.

TIA!!

Top two bolts that clamp the gap. :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s normal to have to tighten it a little after the first few cuts. The bolts “set in” and need a little bit. That means you did it right in the beginning.

@Tokoloshe is 100% correct. But I will add, tighten these very little at a time. And just until you dont have any rocking in the core anymore and all your bearings are touching

Thanks to you both. I was happy I found this and should have checked.

Of course out of curiosity I went back to review the core assembly instructions and of course it was right there in the instructions on how to tighten the top up!

Thanks to both you and @Jonathjon for not just saying…“Hey did you even bother to re-read the instructions?” :joy:

99.9% of the time you wont ever see that around here. But when we do say to read the instructions generally one of us post a link to the section we are referring to or at least a screen shot. Sometimes its just more than I want to type so its easier to send someone there

Glad you got it back right. Keep an eye on it and adjust as needed. I think I had to adjust mine 2-3 times before it stayed good. I still check it periodically but its been over a year since I have touched the bolts.
