Gameboy Box - Chestnut, Pear and Red Heart

You know what time it is? It is pencil case time (again²). Though the box is too small for pencils, it is as big as a Gameboy is. It is again for our Secret Santa at school (last year was the guniea pig box). I don’t know what he is going to put in there, but I like how it turned out. It was also the first test for the press which I messed up because I put too much pressure onto the box, slightly warping it by pressing the inlay too far in. Boo.

The inlays are far from perfect because I eyeballed the Z depth when changing tools, I really am never going to learn. The difference in depth was 0.2mm between the two tools, the other side even more. No surprise it is not an exact fit then. So, make sure to actually use the touchplate for inlays, don’t be a lazy guy like me…

That is a perfect spot for a bunch of AA batteries.

That’s definitely the solution.

Normally I really dislike asymmetry with that larger rounded corner. Honestly though, in this situation, I love it! I really gotta break that habit.

Same, but that’s what the Gameboy looked like… :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember in school we were learning about scale and we had to draw something 25x bigger or something and I made a picture of the gameboy as tall as me. That rounded corner was really interesting when you actually look closely at it. I wonder what the story was there.

So the corner didnt kill your hand like the other square boxes at the time did. A early ergmetric design

It’s nice to see your process in short form. It really goes straight to the details. I feel like I got something done.
