This thing turned out so well! You could use that design for a lot of things I feel, like you said an arcade cabinet, maybe a hidden stationary desk for the kitchen or in a bedroom that doesn’t take up space..really cool!
Finished and installed. Just in time for Christmas.

Yes I will tidy up that cable - the flex is too thick for my stapler so I need to get clips.
It’s also plugged into a zigbee plug so there will be no late night gaming I’m afraid.
Thanks @RupeB for the suggestion to use the captured wood hinge, I think that makes a big difference.

We’re using this, which is quite cool:
We go to a Raspberry Pi club once a month and they have bitbots that can hold a sharpie, follow a line or other stuff we haven’t got to yet.
