Hello, I am new to all this and currently building a lowrider v4 cnc. The end stop plug kit says wires are 1200mm, would it still work with 1000 mm wires, I am not in US and cant find any longer lengths locally.

Depends on the size of your gantry. You could also buy a crimping tool and learn how to crimp (always comes handy) or chain wires together.

My gantry rail will be 1386mm according to the calculator, is there any rule of thumb for wire length to rail length? If not i will learn how to crimp

Until if/when https://docs.v1e.com/lowrider/calculator includes wire length info, I personally used these rough numbers from “Dimensions” sheet within (not official at all) spreadsheet at https://github.com/aaronse/v1engineering-mods/blob/main/lowrider4/v1e-lr4-rc2-printed-parts.xlsx.
Got access to excel, so you can plug in your Usable X dimension? The “Dimensions” sheet calculations assumes the controller box will be positioned close to Xmin (left side).
These numbers helped me figure out wire lengths to cut when using self sourced 22 AWG stranded wire. Crimped Dupont connectors with SN-025 crimper. I personally find crimping fiddly, and sometimes resort to using https://www.amazon.com/IWISS-Crimping-AWG28-20-Terminals-Connectors/dp/B078WNZ9FW to get the crimp started, so wires stay in place long enough, to use the SN-025 to make a secure connection. Using Soldered Butt Connectors, and heat shrink tubing (to extend wires from the kit) has worked for me too. That said, many Makers here seem happy with following the doc guidance to fold and electrical tape wrap ends of connector wires to chain them (avoiding the need to crimp or solder).
Crimping is NOT required if using a kit from V1E, see https://docs.v1e.com/lowrider/#wire-routing. So, although optional, crimping seems to be a useful Maker skill to learn, but can be frustrating (initially).
