Dw660 “quick chuck”

This is a question for Ryan as I saw on one of his video that his dw660 lacked the black thing around the chuck. So he must have taken it off. I am trying to do that as well but once I get the top two screws off I can’t figure how to get the rest off. Do I break it? Pry it? Does it screw off? Do I need to take off the housing?

Any help would be appreciated. I don’t want to break my brand new router.

Thanks,

Michael

You actually don’t need to remove the screws it is a snap ring inside.

I didn’t bother to print the cover thing.

Holy crap! How did you get this snap ring off?

After much swearing I got it off and the router is up and running.

Thank you yet again,

Michael

Swearing = Technical Jargon…You need to start using proper CNC terms now that you are a professional.

“After lots of technical Jargon at the top of my lungs…everything works great!”

Good to know, I haven’t taken the collet grip off yet. Seeing a snap ring like that, I’ll have to get some snap ring pliers when the time comes.

Jamie,

Well I wish I had known there was a thing called “snap ring pliers” before I went at it with a vise and multiple flat head screw drivers and a lot of ”technical jargon”. :stuck_out_tongue:
