Soooo, it’s basically done. 24"x24"x6". Was able to print almost every part on my monoprice mini. Luckily I didn’t take apart the hypercube that I cannibalized to build this until all of the parts were done. The only extra money that I had to spend on this was $58 for nuts and bolts from fastenal. I had everything else lying around. Hell I even had the dewalt router(I’m a drywaller).

The only thing left on my list is cable management and a buck converter to power my pi(not sure if I want to use a 3b or a zero. I have a few of both).

Digging the table!!

It’s 25 gauge steel stud. The kickers in the corners make it super solid. It’s just SUPER light. I thought about bolting it to the ground, but I’ll probably just put some bricks in the bottom track.

Cool table, light and sturdy I presume.

It’s a solid table, it’s unbelievably light though. Should I add some weight to it? Or is it a non issue?

Should be good, It might dance around a tiny bit but nothing to worry about. I wanted to do something similar with my last LowRider build but could not find all the material in the sizes I wanted.

Lowrider is my next goal. I was thinking about 16 or 18 gauge for that one. I never actually bought metal studs on my own. I’ve always just brought scraps from work home. I know that it costs more than wood.

I use it because I’ve been a metal framer and drywaller forever so it’s easier to work with than wood. It’s also always straight (no crowning boards).
