Cutting Polycarbonate

you can’t buy them on the mfr website that i linked. its just information for distributors or someone who wants to sell them. i linked that instead of where i bought it from because of that intentionally. i’m just reporting the facts of what worked for me.

its pretty similar to Carbide Single Flute Long – V1 Engineering Inc that one. but not quite the same… maybe the one ryan sells is better and o flute i dont know. this is new to me i’m just sharing info for the benefit of others. i dont have an agenda like that.

i will say that worrying about those kind of details would be kind of antithetical to the entire mostly open source ideology of this kind of concept though. this is about accessibility. and not sacrificing knowledge for the benefit of profit… less than a buck or two i’d venture. at least that was my understanding of the modus opperandi here.

i hope i’m not mistaken about that. especially when my intention was to share knowledge and not sell something.

i did buy the kit after all. so i think i’ve contributed. please think about this response

Sharing info is great - I don’t mean to put you off sharing what you’ve learned and what worked for you.

From my perspective Ryan has provided a lot by making all this available for free so supporting him by buying from the store where possible and practical is a good way to show my appreciation.

and it is not always feasible or practical or necessary either. again. no sales pitch. just stating exactly factually what worked for me in my setup for the benefit of anyone else. clearly if the other bit i linked from the v1e store works just as well… then have at… my learning process did not immediately take me that direction and others likely will follow other paths. i happened to buy a bunch of bits after the fact due to buying the kit then researching as i went. overall i would say that if the few dollars is more important than the knowledge that the difference between failure and success at that point is negligible. but that is only my personal perspective coming from over a decade long career in the intensive care unit in addition to teaching myself how to cnc etc. like i said originally YMMV, everyone’s will.
