I ttied updating my jackpot and now it only partly works. I saw that 3.8.0 was the newest version to intall with the web installer and i tried to install the configs and macros from the v1 github. Not entirely sure im doing everything correctly. After i got all installed the web UI doesn’t respond, probe button doesn’t work but i can use the G38.2 manually. The tablet page does work as far as i can tell. I was trying to get the bluetooth controller function but just made everything worse. Any advice on what i missed?
Run $SS in the terminal and let us see what it says.
Make sure you did the full wipe version and you have the right files for your machine (mpcnc/lr)
Yes i did the full wipe. It is on windows 11 with the cotrect drivers. The LR3 does move currently but i lost alot of functionality. I currently use the mist button to activate my router which works manually with M7.
There is a lot more $ss info. I do not need the other screens just all of the $ss.
The config has changed, did you edit the previous config to enable that spindle?
My config is set up to run the machine, anything extra you need to add yourself since I have no idea what else might get plugged in.
I wired my machine to run its best from your stock configuration files. I trigger a relay from one of the mosfet’s on the jackpot board wich is the mist button on the WebUI page. All i was saying is the command works if manually entered but the button on the WebUI doesnt work anymore. The only part of the config files that i changed was adding my max travel and soft limits. Im very new to all of this and im just not sure what steps i missed.
You are using STA mode so either you did not erase the board completely or you have already edited the config.
Yes switched to STA when i updated to 3.8.0 with the web installer because i saw that it was a more reliable way to use it day to day on one of the threads here. I have perfect wifi in my shop as well as the mini pc i use for control Right next to the machine. At this point i would just like your recommendations on which fluidnc version to use and if i should do the v2 or v3 configuration just to get back to your stock programming.
If you want troubleshooting help you really can’t go in and make changes and say you wiped it clean and started fresh with my files. As you can imagine this stuff can be very complicated, any change you make could be much larger than you think.
3.8
V2
I should have left it alone to begin with. I will try a brand new install again tonight and see if i can do it correctly. Just to be clear my issues were present after i tried to update and before i made my changes to your stock files. It worked great until i tried to update the firmware. I maybe buying another esp from you that has everything correctly installed haha ill have a spare that i can learn on that way.
The fluidNC web installer now allows you to set up the STA wifi connection right from the installer after you wipe and reinstall. That’s how I have been doing it as well.
That is exactly what i did too. That was after the 4th try of installing everything. The STA is alot faster and nicer to use but ill go back to AP if i need to.
Please, yes, just for trouble shooting.
if I am not mistaken the only thing that does not work is your mist button? The does not work in the v2 by default, but does work in V3 (STA mode should work better as well.
If you wipe and flash the V3 files I think you will be up and running again.
I will back track a bit to make sure i share this properly. I bought my jackpot back in May order# 24867. The firmware and original config did have the the mist button on the webUI activate the gpio mosfet pin on my jackpot which i use to trigger a relay to turn on the router. Everything worked great. I saw some threads on here about the v3 webUI and bluetooth controllers, i thought it look cool and everyone is a genius so it seemed easier than it was.
I updated to 3.7.17 i believe to try and get different functionality and once i had completely screwed everything up i have spent the last month and half trying to get back to just the original version i started with. As of now, most of the buttons on the webUI main interface will not respond but the tablet side of it will. I dont have the probe function anymore, the button is there but when i click on it nothing will happen.
I think my best course will be to go back on the fluidnc web installer do a clean install again and take pictures of the process to see where im going wrong and report back.
Specifically,
The mist button doesnt work anymore which is M7 command
Probe doesnt work but can be ran with G38.2
Pause wouldnt work when running the job but it did on the tablet side of the interface.
The feed rate over ride buttons didnt work but the did on the tablet side of the interface.
Thats what i noticed right away
Did reflashing and starting with V3 fix it?
I tried so many different things just trying to make it work that im not sure anymore. Thats why i was asking what you recommended so i had a place to start because i have fully screwed it up haha
Try this
Do i unzip the theme folder before loading onto the esp?
