Had a similar thing happen a few years ago very unfair
Made some progress. Still not worked out an easy way to make good patterns, but started learning Blender. In the meantime, this worked well, although there is a LOT of sanding to do.

Another: larger and lower ‘frequency’ makes the sanding much easier, as does limiting to one source. I’m still battling to find an accessible way to generate these things. Grasshopper in Rhino is incredible, but I’m only just hanging on by my fingernails as it’s so far from my tech comfort zone.
