CNC on woodwork frames, without all the waste

I just saw this chair on reddit. Great looking rocking chair, with the chair seat and back made on a CNC machine. Instead of wasting all that nice, expensive lumber, he made the a frame, and CNC’ed the opening (and the 3 million holes) from the frame. Clever.

Looks great and I like the construction technique, but I would be afraid to sit on that thing, the back seems a bit weak (or maybe I’m just too fat)
