Finally got all main parts printed for my LR4 build. I am calling this colour scheme ‘Chocolate and Caramilk’. Final work area will be in the realm of 2000-2200 x 850. Its going on my existing work bench and I guess I will have to build a new work bench. At least I can CNC some cabinetry to go underneath.
For those who don’t know, Caramilk is a caramelised white chocolate we have here in Australia (Not sure if it is popular elsewhere) and its colour is very similar to the beige I am using. Both filaments are Jaycar’s own ‘Slic3d’ brand of filament. My steppers are here as is my TwoTrees 800W router (which appears to fit the Makita mounts perfectly in case anyone is searching this forum for an answer). I am waiting on jackpot v3 board, belts, pulleys and bolts. Hoping to have the build together in the next month or so if everything arrives and goes to plan. I have ordered an aluminium sheet to make the xy plates myself.
I am actually also in the process of converting my Ender 3 V2 into a CNC machine following the E3CNC builds that are available online. Much smaller work area and I intended to build it then build the LR4 if I made use of this one but I got stuck waiting for parts for this and ended up ordering my LR4 parts before this was even complete. Hoping this can machine the aluminium plates for me, otherwise I will use the Makera Carvera at work but its going to be a slow process I think. Pics of the E3CNC below
I have no real need or use for either of these CNC machines but building is half the fun, then figuring out what to make so I can justify it is the other half right?
