CAT6 cables for wiring the stepper motors?

The trick is going to be using patch cables instead of material from a spool, as patch cables will likely be stranded so you can actually get some more flex out of them. I made a 3D printer a couple of years ago with some spare Cat5e that I had from a wiring job, and it was a pain because it didn’t flex right. Should have gone with stranded!

Looks like a good idea. For how long did/does it last?

It’s still going after 2 years, professional microphone cable is designed to withstand the stress of live performance, which is far more aggressive than the movements your mpcnc will make. The shielding also causes the cable to move in a bigger arc, further protecting it.
