CAD Middleground Between Tinkercad/Fusion 360?

Hi Paul.
Inkscape/Estlcam (as far as I know) do not take .step or any other file that we can export from Fusion.
The only way would be exporting a DFX of the sketch but it was created with a single sketch and it will need a lot more cleanup to be useful in Estlcam.
I think your best bet is to use the file from James Tokarsky @thejat.
But if you want to try, you can just right click on the sketch the the browser and save as DFX.
Like I said…It will not be separate and will need a lot of clean up.

I know I’m still not up to speed on the many different file types and what types can be used in what programs but what has me a little confused here is that when I open the Fusion file you did and look at the right, left, top, or bottom views there appears to be two distinct entities so I ( apparently mistakenly) thought one was the ‘V’, one the ‘8’ and that they were on different layers and I’d be able to separate them but couldn’t seem to figure out how to do so. My imagined plan was separating them then converting them to a format useable in Inkscape as ultimately I’d like to carve them as separate pieces…

I’m a dozen or so tutorials into Inkscape and it’s making sense to me. Maybe I’ll find something else to work on for the moment, I think I’ll have an easier time experimenting with one program a bit before jumping into another and I can see some use for both in some of the things I’d like to do.

I appreciate the reply!
