Welcome @Kyled1996 to the forum. Here is a post that you might be interested in.
After loads and loads of research for traditional CNC routing my maker friend just tosed the lowrider at me.
Since I’m going to jump into this i have some questions.
I read that once everything is dialed in and a break in period is complete rechecking screw tesnsion.
For those that have gone with end stops and getting everything (feed rate etc..) dialed in, how often are you re-tensioning the belts/parts and have you experienced parts breaking or stretch belts overtime?
What is a realist…
Also this one:
Ok so, my Dragon’s Lair project, every single piece I did in MDF came out exactly to scale, and all the pieces went together amazingly. Fits like a glove so far, and I’ll be posting updated photos there later.
Today I wanted to be brave, and I grabbed a sheet of cabinet grade birch. I put it on the table, and let the machine rip. Using the same settings that I used on my MDF, only… This time, almost nothing was ‘accurate’. Everything was off by a few mm’s, and some things were even ‘oblong’ or …
I use a Craftsman trim router and have done great with 3/4" MDF. The 611 would be even stronger and with a 6mm bit or smaller even should do fine. Others with LowRider experience will chime in.
