Worst thing about this is influencers, telling me they are not sponsored but click on the link in the description to buy one…
They are literately selling them on a commission based but yeah not sponsored, it’s like gaslighting you.
Also one YouTuber told me He was disappointing it didn’t had remote monitoring, not sure he said it to get people correcting him in the comments and so get more engagement by trolling his viewers or he is stupid.
As a DIY’r I would just build my own and get a decent buildplate size have top notch electronics.
With some exceptions I don’t even watch now if there is an affiliate link. I have written to several to tell them that as well.
Notably Michael from Teaching Tech never had affiliate links, and Stefan CNC Kitchen is doing the same - they declare they have the item supplied for free as a test unit (which is fine) and then give their opinions.
They have to make a living of course, but some are not much better than the late night shopping channels!
I watch a few where you can tell they aren’t meeting their quota for their sponsors because they’ll have a quick 15 minute video with 3 “product placement” ads in them. Inheritance machining has been doing this a lot lately.
