I use Vetric Vcarve Pro but not the laser addition it’s a great all in one. I think it is well worth the monie and have used it to make many custom cribbage boards.
Do you have any visuals of what you’ve created? (if that’s okay)
Vevor does a Makita clone that is pretty good for both quality and value. I’ve used mine for a few years with no issue. Their Europe site has a very good price, <38 Euros including VAT, but you’ll need to purchase a Makita 1/8" collet separately.
Carbide 3D (maker of Shapeoko machines) has a good deal with an ER-11 collet, 1/4" and 1/8" collets includedsoft start, spindle lock, etc. for $60 USD. Shipping is only $8 US (possibly more to Europe), but courier brokerage fees will add to that.
I’m definitely not achieving that level of quality with EstlCAM!
How were the statuettes made? In 3D (with a rotary axis?) or in 2.5D?
Unfortunatly for the Carbide router : The ER-11 Compact Router is only available in 120V with a standard US plug. (220V in Europe)
For the other reference: at that price, there’s really not much to lose!
That’s not a problem of a cam though. Check the gallery and you can see what I made, it’s all been done with Estlcam. ![]()
Some of them were 3d printed others were cut using estlcam to do the cam and cut each half and glued together it is very easy and gave very good output. I also did 2 sided cutting with vcarve but estlcam is capable of the also
Yeah, that pretty much rules out the Carbide router.
