Maybe @MakerJim would have some thoughts?
I need a bit more info to work with.
Is there a build thread for the previous, working setup with The Jackpot V1?
Edit: replying on mobile sucks- spit out two posts instead of one reply.
There have been a couple versions of 0-10V modules. Which one do you have?
Picture attached
This is correct. Also, if using a pendant you will need to disable the reverse_pin on the 0-10V module as the pendant needs 2 GPIO for the UART (and it has to be the upper two pins), and the 0-10V board can use up to 3. The Jackpot board only has 4 available, not 5 GPIO on the expansion header and pendant IO (They share pins)
OK I understand this now in the light of the morning. It’s the same module you had before, but you’ve installed the connector to exit vertically instead of horizontally. That’s the right orientation for use with the JP3.
With a DMM, we need to see what voltages you get between the Analog common ground (Black wire in yoru picture) and the 0-10V out (Red wire in your picture).
We also want to see what happens between the digital ground (Green in your picture) and the forward pin (Out1) which is yellow in your picture [i think]
As a start, command off your spindle. You should see 0V on the analog / 0-10V signal and 0V on the digital/forward signal. Then command your spindle on at full speed. You should see 10V on the analog/0-10v signal and something greater than 3.3V on the digital ground/forward pin.
Finally, if you’re not using a pendant command the spindle full speed reverse. You should again see 10V on the analog/0-10V but now 0V on the forward pin pair and something greater than 3.3V on the reverse pin pair.
Report what you see and we can troubleshoot further from there.
Thank you for trying to help…. Should I be testing AC or DC?
DC Volts
Ok so testing DC, I got the following:
CMD spindle off
Analog Com (black wire) + 0-10v out (red wire) =0.4mV
Digital ground (green) + Forward pin (out 1 Yellow) = 10.75v
Digital ground (green) + Rev pin (out 2 white) = 10.75v
Full Speed forward
Analog Com (black wire) + 0-10v out (red wire) = 11.19v
Digital ground (green) + Forward pin (out 1 Yellow) = 10.75v
Digital ground (green) + Rev pin (out 2 white) = 10.75v
Full speed Rev
Analog Com (black wire) + 0-10v out (red wire) = 11.19v
Digital ground (green) + Forward pin (out 1 Yellow) = 10.75
Digital ground (green) + Rev pin (out 2 white) = 165.2mV
Those digital out values seem too high. 11V could damage the spindle if it is expecting a 5V signal.
What model spindle / spindle controller do you have, and can you show how you have the 0-10V module wired to that spindle? Not the picture, a schematic with signal definitions.
Well, if I remember correctly, when I was using this 0-10v module on my original jackpot, I had to increase the voltage via the POT to get my full RPMs.
I am using the H100 VFD with spindle.
Here is the link to the manual as I am not sure what schematic you would like to look at.
Also, this is how it is wired. As a note, it was working perfect with my original jackpot.

I hope what I attached helps.
I’ll make time to read your users manual and sketch up an interconnection schematic sometime in the next day or so, but I have my own projects occupying my day today.
Thank you, but just as a reference, I had this working on my original jackpot and didn’t make any wire changes when I connected the 0-10v module to the jackpot 3.
Can someone please help me and let me know what values I should be seeing from the 0-10v I/O board when testing?
I’ve tried, and note above I have doubts about your digital out signals being properly in-family with the interface needs of either side.
You’ve said this a number of times, and I’m sure it was.
Let me explore that for a bit. Why did you change from the Jackpot V1 to the Jackpot V3?
At this point it might be worthwhile to go back, see if it is working, and take those same measurements. Something is amiss and you’re the only one on this thread with the hardware that you have.
Absent that type of troubleshooting step or a good schematic and time with the documentation I can’t help you much more.
Hello, first let me say that I sincerely appreciate your help @MakerJim. I wasn’t in any way implying that you were not helping. I just thought I would ask for additional help in the meantime.
I changed over control boards only because it is a newer one and I was having lots of connectivity issues with the other one even though my WiFi is great.
Perhaps I am not registering the values correctly. Can you dumb it down a little for me so I can try again?
If you’re seeing the commanded speeds on the VFD display, it seems that your issue is at or between the VFD and/or spindle, not between the Jackpot board and the VFD.
Or it is the digital signal levels not providing an ON/Forward that the controller recognizes. I still say 11V is wrong for that interface. Later today I’ll revisit this thread.
